Winter show in VA
|
When we left for Jupiter with all our family of horses, dogs and cats, little did we realize that VA was to have so many snow storms with up to 2 feet of snow.
Autum Rae a client and eventer has rented the Jilba barn of 14 stalls for winter. Autum is glad to have a roof as the volume of snow would have made training and coaching in the open impossible.

Jules other horse called "the quad"
|
teamwork purchased "the quad" a couple of weeks ago and it has proved invaluable to harrow the arena and run over the farm doing odd jobs.
Fun to drive and ride, the quad can also follow the horses down the lovely canals giving the non horse riders to see the beautiful wildlife which abound in the canals.

More news from teamworkdressage from Florida
|

Teamworkdressage has settled into our new home after many days of organization and associated chaos. We are looking forward to a more simple life focusing on training, showing and selling our horses.
We can now accommodate fourteen horses and our farm - we have rented a very nice tent with four temporary stalls! I have been busy planting flowers and shrubs while Jules has been decorating the house and barn plus arranging holiday cheer in readiness for Christmas.

Teamworkdressage now enjoying the Florida sun
|
Teamworkdressage moved to Florida on 30TH November 2009 with six horses, three dogs and two cats. Our planned seventeen hour trip was split into two legs to give the horses an overnight break.
On the way Risk, our old run-around SUV died, in North Carolina, which was not very far away from Virginia! Risky Risk, appropiately, went out with a bang.

Apollo (King of all Horses) sold to Jane Warham
|
Apollo is much loved and respected by every one at teamworkdressage - he has such a regal presence about him that he is impossible to resist. Jane fell under his charms when she was able to ride good piaffe/passage, experiencing the power and the suspension of these movements for the first time!
In a little over two years Apollo who was an older, many times failed driving horse has learnt the Grand Prix. He definitely does not think of himself as older and now that he knows all the Grand Prix he puts his energy into an awesome work ethic.

Delancy, super at her first competition at Inter 1!
|
VADA/NOVA's Autumn 11 Dressage Show, Nov 14/15th was teamworkdressage's last show in VA, before we head south to sunny FL for the winter show season.
Client and good friend Rebecca Hendrix entered this show on UWHO at Training and First level and as luck would have it UWHO developed a nasty hoof abscess preventing this talented team from competing. Rebecca, however, still made the three hour plus journey from NJ to help out at this show.

GAIG Region 1 Championship
|
Once again, Delancy, owned by Rebecca Hendrix, was our star performer scoring high sixties in two 4.3's, earning a first and a third which was terrific. Absolut (pictured opposite) showed twice in the Grand Prix with really nice comments from all four judges who loved the horse acknowledging that his piaffe is still weak but shows great promise.

BLM Region Finals 10-12 October
|
Regional Championships are always fun as you meet and compete with your old friends from the competition year - this BLM Final was no exception!
Rebecca and Bill Hendrix, New Jersey residents, where of course in full attendance at this large show hosted by their home state. Did we mention they are the hosts with the 'mosts'! It was the first dressage show for UWHO who Rebecca and Bill recently purchased from us. Rebecca and UWHO did super well coming second in both their Training level classes scoring a 62% & 65%.

American Citizen at Last
|
At 4.30pm on the 23rd September, I proudly Pledged Allegiance to the United States of America. All seventeen new citizens, each individual representing a different country, together repeated the Oath of Allegiance. A friendly, female officer moved between us checking that we were all actually clearly, articulating the Oath. We where of course all very loud and clear with our fantastically different accents!
The naturalization test included some questions on American history; a basic understanding of the Constitution; ability to read and write.

VADA NOVA Musical Freestyle Championships Sept 12/13th
|
This annual VADA Freestyle Championship was held at Morven Park Equestrian Center, Leesburg, VA. Vivaldi & Jules won the FEI MFS Championship with Debra Brookhouser's great music from the musical Grease. Jules & Meghan Michaels teamed up again to win the FEI Pas De Deux with the 'Terminator' music which was also created and choreographed by the talented Debra Brookhouser! Debra also showed with us over the weekend riding Prix St George both days on her gelding Sebastian, just, just missing that elusive 60%.

The show was held at Lexington, VA which is always a terrific venue with great footing and stable complex. We took down two green GP horses Absolut and Apollo to give them another starts at the GP level. We were delighted with both horses as they improving daily and are really understanding their job
