Wittus has been sold to Megan Winkler who is from Northern Ohio - together they are a great match. Megan's goal for 2009 is to compete in FEI Young Riders competitions and earn her USDF Silver medal. Jules and I wish this team all the best of success for 2009 and we look forward to coaching them when they compete in our area
Wittus showed at the Region 1 BLM Finals, Oct '08 Lexington VA, in the Grand Prix Open with Jules and scored 64+%. This was a good score and shows how competitive Wittus is at fifteen years `young'. Back in '03, Wittus won Gold in the National Jr/Yr Grand Prix Championship!
Jules and I love this generous, expressive, gelding and have shown that he is still a supple, willing, talented athlete with many more years of competition life in front of him.
His owner a GA acquaintance of Jules, purchased Wittus in 2006 and had problems with him spooking and running away. This bad (panicked) behavior has not been a problem since Wittus arrived at teamworkdressage and at the large BLM Finals Show, Wittus was a well mannered gentleman.
Jules shares her daily training on Wittus with her working student Lelia. In just two months Leila has learnt piaffe, passage, pirouettes and all the tempi changes.
We believe Wittus is a wonderful schoolmaster, competitive, yet tolerant. (Please note though, he is a horse that works best in a double bridle.) His new owner will have a unique opportunity to learn the movements and mechanics of the Grand Prix. Jules and I strongly feel that Wittus will remain seriously competitive in the dressage arena, for many more years.
