Brendan competed in his first competition at Grand Prix at CDCTA's recognized show at Morven Park with a score of 71+%. He showed with more confidence at this show, especially on the second day. Consequently his canter pirouettes were more honestly on the aids, his trot extensions earned consistent 8's and his passage demonstrated his potential for future brilliance.

His weakness was too much creeping forward in the piaffe and a mistake both days in the one tempi changes. So our plan for this year is to focus on Brendan's training, working towards more physical strength and mental relaxation. We hope to have a quality, competitive Grand Prix horse ready for the 2010 season.

Brendan was presented to Jules desperately in need of re-training. He was seven years old, could not, would not, canter right under saddle and had a lengthy history of bad behavior. Worse still, he was totally unsuitable for his owner.

As Brendan started his re-training with Jules he gradually started to trust his new training program, however, his first dressage tests at first level were hardly starring efforts. Brendan was fondly nick-named by Jules's clients as "Bad, Bucking Brendan".

Within a year Brendan won a fourth level class at Devon CDI in '07 and in the small tour in Florida '08, he went on to win two USEF Developing Horse FEI classes.
